“What began as a foray into film making blossomed into a comprehensive career, the foundation for which was Disney Animation.”

William Silvers is an artist with over 35 years of commercial success. In 1995, his film career began at Walt Disney Feature Animation Studios where he adapted his fine art painting skills to the world of filmmaking. For almost 10 years he created unforgettable backgrounds for Disney classics such as Mulan, Tarzan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear

Eager for new experiences William enjoyed a stint as Associate Art Director for EA Sports-Tiburon. While there he contributed to the development of the award-winning game NCAA Football

Though an artist of repute, William continued to perfect his style and technique by taking classes with renowned artists. His love of film and his passion for art brought him back to filmmaking. His collaboration with Disney had bolstered a deep-seated desire to create meaningful work and that drive earned him a coveted stint at Industrial Light & Magic, a division of Lucasfilm Ltd., in 2004.

William expanded his repertoire of painting skills to include digital matte painting and created some of the most stunning images for the feature films, The Day After Tomorrow and Star Wars Episode III, The Revenge Of The Sith

With his reputation in the Industry growing, William accepted a position at DreamWorks Animation Studios in Glendale California, as a Digital Matte Painter. His work can be seen in: How To Train Your Dragon 2, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, The Croods, Rise Of The Guardians, Puss In Boots, Kung Fu Panda 2, Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special and Shrek Forever After.

One measure of a painting’s success is the emotion it elicits from its viewer; William Silvers’ wildlife scenes make your pulse quicken and your breath catch as you witness some of nature’s most miraculous everyday moments. William has won several prestigious awards for his incredible talent. In fall of 2009, William achieved a personal triumph when his long-awaited book, “Painting Realistic Wildlife in Acrylic” was published. In his 30 step-by-step demonstrations book William shares his secrets for capturing the drama, the atmosphere and the very essence of wildlife. Full of rich colors, a gripping sense of life and masterful advice for achieving the same, his book has proven to help intermediate artists and advanced beginners achieve new levels of success and expression.
